Theme Activities
The aim of the Spark of Life Theme Activities is to always encourage the greatest levels of spontaneous creative self-expression. The Theme Activities are used as prompts to facilitate active participation and has been designed to boost the self-esteem of everyone involved in the program.
The rehabilitative Theme Activities serve as a prototype that can be adapted in endless versions. They are designed and hand made in Australia using high quality materials that make them unique and long-lasting.
The two Giant Dice have been developed to go hand in hand with the rehabilitative Theme Activities and are designed to be rolled on the floor to create focus. Each Giant Dice is individually handmade with smooth rounded corners and is a precise enlarged version of a normal dice. These dice are designed to meet the special needs of people with: dementia, visual impairment, arthritis, limited grip-strength and Parkinson’s Disease.
Once you have invested in the two dice you can use these with all other colour and number-based Theme Activities.
Flower Theme Activity

Each participant brings a plain looking flowerbed alive with brilliant bright coloured flowers.
This Theme Activity is ready to use and comes with a large background board (100 x 75cm) flowerbed and 12 large flowers in 6 bright colours, each featuring its own special proverb on the back. Comprehensive instructions on how to facilitate this Theme Activity are included.

Tree of Love Theme Activity

The Tree of Love Theme Activity is about universal love that appeals to all people irrespective of gender, race, culture or religion.
The text on the back of each piece has beautiful sayings about love to inspire heart warming discussion.
This Theme Activity comes ready to use with a large background board (100 x 75cm) of the Tree of Love, 12 large red hearts with their own specially chosen sayings. Comprehensive instructions on how to facilitate this Theme Activity are included.

Heart Balloons

These gorgeous heart balloons blow up to 15centimeters or 6″and are the perfect size that can be exchanged for a hug. This could be expressed to a person with dementia by saying: “May I exchange this heart for a hug?”.

Giant Reusable Balloons - 6 Vibrant Colours

The giant balloon is the best activity you can use as your ‘Beginning Ritual’ in your Spark of Life Rehabilitative Program. It provides instant focus, induces energy, joy and laughter.
What is so special about these balloons is that they blow up to a round balloon that a person can bounce in a predictable direction, thus leaving the person with dementia with the experience of being in control.
Available in six vibrant colours: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.
These Giant Balloons blow up to 90 cm or 3 feet but we recommend 60cm or 2 feet. They are reusable and able to withstand being inflated and deflated over and over again.
