Respite support for Family Carers
Are you a carer of a person with dementia? You may be eligible to receive carer funding to attend education such as Spark of Life Courses, as well as respite support.
Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres provide respite funds to enable ongoing carers to be supported not only for education and training courses, but also for care support. The service can also provide funding assistance with short term, emergency or planned respite, and these centres aim to meet carers’ individual needs, whether they are going away or just need a break and some extra help. The Respite programs that are offered are designed positively benefit carers, families, and friends and assist carers in sustaining their caring role.
The support is provided around Australia, in all states, through Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres. For more information call1800 052 222.
