Spark of Life Family Education
Improving the experience of life for you the carer and your loved one with dementia
When dementia is new to you and your family, it is easy to struggle to understand and communicate with the person who has dementia. You may even find yourself thinking that their behaviour is uncharacteristic, and you don’t understand why they can’t just do things the way they used to – be the person they were. These kinds of thoughts bring about frustration and anger both at the person and the whole situation.
However, it does not need to be a struggle and with the right understanding and skills, a renewed light of hope can be experienced. Time and time again relatives comment after attending just one of our sessions: “If only I had known much earlier what I have learnt today, our journey with dementia would have been such a different and much less stressful experience.” Please see testimonial in the right-hand column.
Based on our Spark of Life Philosophy, we offer unique support for families to improve the experience of life both for the carer and the person with dementia. Our holistic approach is purely therapeutic focusing on enriching the connection between relatives and the person with dementia. Please note! Our service does not provide medical advice or prescribe medication or supplements.
The education is gentle and respectful filled with relevant and helpful strategies and draws on 30 years of professional and personal experiences supporting people who have dementia and their carers to live the best possible life with dementia.
Our education is provided live via Zoom and is usually of a duration of 2-hours which leaves time to personalise the information and answer individual questions. All our education has been specifically developed for families who are looking to learn to better understand the person with dementia and to gain simple and practical skills to make the everyday experience the best possible.

In addition, our Spark of Life Education is authentic, based in practice, and provides real, rich, original ideas, and methods that are shared in purposeful context. The language used is geared for people of all levels of English comprehension and can therefore be effortlessly embraced also by participants for whom English is not their first language.
